Some people, however, just aren’t satisfied with what they’re given, so the brand has benefited greatly from talented artists designing their own colorways. Below are some creations that really stand out.

1. Air Jordan 3 “UNDFTD” Custom by Ting Meister

Ting Meister is at it again and this time he isn’t playing games. Well, if he is, he’s winning them. All of them. Such is the case on his Air Jordan 3 “UNDFTD” Custom. Channeling one of the only collab that truly deserves to be dubbed ‘iconic,’ this pair takes everything from the time tested palette to the Rare Air velcro tagging.

2. “Pony Hair” Air Jordan 1 Custom Pack by The Shoe Surgeon

Giddy up. After breaking us off with a preview in “Banned” fashion, The Shoe Surgeon has formally unleashed the “Pony Hair” Air Jordan 1 Custom Pack and it’s a beast all its own. Adding to the Bulls motif by also updating OGs like the “Shadow” and “Royal” renditions, this custom collection is luxe and full of horse power.

3. “IKEA Pack” Air Jordan 1 Custom by The Shoe Surgeon

Partnering with Los Angeles design/maker Elliott Evan, The Shoe Surgeon is right on top of the internet’s top trend as he presents the “IKEA Pack” Air Jordan 1 Custom. Turning the ’85 favorite into a Field Boot and using IKEA bag material and suede, these also come with a matching bomber jacket by the denoted designer he partnered with as well as an instruction manual.

4. Air Jordan 1 Shadow Python Custom by JBF Customs

Back by popular demand, Jacob Ferrato of JBF Customs is re-releasing his popular customization, the “Shadow” Air Jordan 1 Python.

Handcrafted by Ferrato in his Cleveland, Ohio studio, the iconic Air Jordan 1s are reconstructed using actual python skin and are fully lined with soft milled vegetable tan leather. To make things sweeter, black leather LaceLab laces and the actual shoe base are included with purchase. And since these are custom made shoes, each pair takes up to four months to make.

5. “Triple Double Russ Face” Inspires New Air Jordan 1 Custom

Somewhat shockingly, the “Metallic Navy” Air Jordan 1s are still very available and are so at a discount. That’s not a bad thing at all, but actually a good chance to stock up on an awesome OG. Making the most of the access and a paint brush, Will Payne has taken his pair and turned them into a tribute to OKC’s potential league MVP.

Inspired by Russell Westbrook, this clean custom adds the Thunder’s alternate orange shades to the upper of this AJ1 for a “Chicago” feel with definite OKC vibes. To seal the deal, Russ’s portrait appears on the heel.

6. Rocket Boy Nift Goes Wild on “Hoverland” Jordan 11 Custom

The Air Jordan 11 is hollowed ground, forever praised in OG iterations and often panned in styles not worn by Mike. Funky and fearless, Rocket Boy Nift redresses the patent leather silo with hyper color pigment paint that changes color with the climate. Woah. What’s that mean though? When it’s col, the mesh turns pink and when it’s warms up it goes to peach and eventually yellow. The patent leather packs the same properties, ranging from lake blue to teal to sea green as the temperature rises.

Cool concept, but these couldn’t possibly be wearable, right? Well, wrong according to RBN who walked the mall, hit the hardwood and even hiked in these.

7. Air Jordan 14 “Beef & Broccoli” Custom by SneakerBeaterz

Much like the Culture album, new AJ14s are coming soon. Much like the Culture album, new AJ14s have already arrived. Doing so in painted fashion and riffing more off NYC than the ATL, the Air Jordan 14 “Beef & Broccoli” Custom by SneakerBeaterz pays tribute to the north side of the map with a basketball icon showing shades of a highly regarded winter wear.

Playing off the Timberland boots that boast colors seen on a well balanced plate, this hearty helping of an Air Jordan takes one of the first AJ silos to get weird with lifestyle colorways and pushes the envelope even further.

8. Paul Wall’s Custom “Houston Oilers” Air Jordan 11s

The People’s Champ has a new album out and he’s promoting it in a pretty clever way. Paul Wall just dropped The Houston Oiler and sought out Nard Got Sole for a custom Air Jordan 11 playing off the original H-Town pigskin squad.

While color blocking and composition are on point, the real detail that makes these ill are the Jumpmen which have been turned into Oiler legends Warren Moon and Earl Campbell.

9. Air Jordan 4 “Nightwing” Custom by Ecentrik Artistry

Who is Dick Grayson you ask? DC Comic fans will tell you he’s the original Robin who went on his own to later become his own hero. Such is represented on the Air Jordan 4 “Nightwing” Custom by Ecentrik Artistry. Crafted for an avid comics fans, the “Military Blue” 4s finds a black and blue paint job paying homage to the DC star.

10. Air Jordan 12 “Miami Dolphins” Custom by Malcom Garret & Elite Touch Ups

For some if not many, the NFL season can’t come soon enough. While training camp is already the talk of ESPN, pigskin pops up on Nice Kicks in the form of the Air Jordan 12 “Miami Dolphins” Custom by Malcom Garret & Elite Touch Ups.

Channeling the hues of the Florida franchise, this pair pops with teal tones and orange accents, bringing new life to what was one a pair of “French Blue” 12s.
